Scam email impersonating Heritage Bank

Another phishing email is circulating impersonating Heritage Bank.

30 November 2020

Scammers are circulating another phishing email targeting Heritage Bank members.

The email is another form of the scam email reported earlier this month.

It again uses Heritage Bank branding and states that your account has been locked due to unsuccessful login attempts.  It asks you to click on the ‘Verify Now’ button in order to unlock your account and confirm your personal details.

In this version, the phishing email links to a malicious website that encourages you to share personal information such Heritage member numbers, passwords and contact details.

Those who unsuspectingly click on the link and share information may later discover their Heritage Online account has been accessed by unauthorised persons.

An example of this email is below.

Important:

  • If you have received this email, please DELETE it. Do not click on any links or share any personal information.
  • Contact Heritage Bank immediately on 13 14 22 if you have received this scam email and clicked ‘Verify now’ and entered any personal information.
